Why we built this

Social media wasn't designed for truth

It was designed for attention. Karlic exists to give you the context that algorithms leave out.

"The most dangerous content isn't the stuff that's completely wrong. It's the stuff that's almost right."

Every day, billions of people scroll through videos that shape how they understand the world. Most of these videos contain some truth, some spin, and a lot of missing context. But the platforms they live on have no incentive to show you the full picture. Their job is to keep you scrolling.

The result? A world where half-truths spread faster than whole ones. Where a video can cite a real study but twist the numbers. Where a creator can sound credible while selling you something. Where the truth exists — but it's scattered across ten tabs you'll never open.

We built Karlic because we believe people deserve better. Not another fact-checker that tells you what to think. Not another algorithm deciding what's "true" or "false." A tool that does the work you don't have time for — reading between the lines — and puts the full context in your hands.

🔍 What Karlic actually does

Karlic is a context machine. You give it a social media video — from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or X — and it breaks it down into six layers of analysis.

It shows you what the video claims, what the evidence supports, what's missing from the narrative, where credible sources disagree, who posted it (and what their track record looks like), and a final synthesis that puts it all together.

It never says "true" or "false." It gives you the context to decide for yourself.

⚙️ How it works

1

You paste a video URL

Any social media video — Instagram Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts, X posts. If it's going viral, Karlic can read it.

2

AI reads everything

Karlic transcribes the audio, analyzes visual frames, and cross-references the claims against real sources — all in under a minute.

3

You get the full picture

A clear breakdown: what's claimed, what's backed by evidence, what's missing, where sources disagree, and who's behind it. Context, not verdict.

4

Your Trusted Voices weigh in

Add sources you already trust — experts, journalists, educators. Karlic checks if they've covered the same topic and shows you their perspective.

What we believe

Context over verdict
We never label content as "true" or "false." We show you what the evidence says and let you decide.
Transparency first
Every claim we highlight comes with sources. You can always trace the context back to where it came from.
No algorithm, no bias
Karlic doesn't pick sides. It doesn't optimize for engagement. It surfaces what's missing so you can think clearly.
Your voices, your lens
Trusted Voices are chosen by you. We don't decide who's credible — you do, and we find what they've said.
